Crescent City to Elk Prairie State Park

Crescent City KOA sent us on our way with all you can eat pancakes for $3.50 plus coffee, as much as you can drink !! Ten pancakes later and almost as many cups of coffee saw us head of to one of he biggest hills so far, 1200 feet and about 5 miles of uphill saw us reach the summit, after that it was downhill through the redwoods ( they are magnificent ) !

After such a climb we rode on towards Klamath in time for lunch, we stopped at the most unlikely looking place unsure whether to go in or not but hunger intervened and in we went, here’s a taste of the inside…

Well, would you ??
As it turns out the grill chef, Ken makes a mean chilli burger and cheese burger, and despite it looking like a hard nose drinking den the blokes at the bar were all drinking cocktails and listening to reggae 😉 made me smile, good bunch of blokes, sorted us all out with bumper stickers !

After a good lunch it was a fairly easy ride to the Elk Prairie State Park so we took some time to check out the Redwoods, here’s a few photos to show how huge they are…

Hard to take photos of something so huge but we think we managed to convey there size !
The weather was good all day and the camp was very nice, settled in and made ourselves at home, the only bum note was me breaking my camera so no more photos until I find a replacement, oh well !!
Keep well and talk soon.

Fab pics! What do you go and break your camera for – doh!! Trees are HUGE you look like sylvanian families 🙂 Great you are brave to enter these seedy looking places, although as they say its all about whats on the inside that counts. Im now going to make a coffee as you have made me fancy one, no pancakes though here 😦
Keep cycling, keep smiling, keep blogging xxx

Great Pictures. Have to get a new one quick. I don’t want to miss your pics. It’s what’s on the inside that counts, and sometimes the seedy looking places turn out to be the best, and when you need to eat, you need to eat! 😉
